A COM-Server is a converter, which enables serial
RS232 devices to communicate with TCP/IP-Ethernet-networks.
It can be used to connect scales, which only have an RS232 interface, to the LAN. (operating mode passive TCP-Server).
The configuration of the interface (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits, handshake) can often be performed via TELNET
or via HTTP (Browser).
